More freedom to live the lifestyle you choose.

Acupuncture and TCM are based on an energetic model for healing. The ancient physicians discovered a system of cyclic energy or life force called Qi (pronounced chee) flowing in the human body along specific pathways. Each pathway, called a meridian, is associated with a particular physiological system and an internal organ which communicates with the surface of the body at specific locations called acupuncture points. Each of these points has a specific, predictable effect upon the Qi passing through it. Modern science has been able to measure the electrical charge at these points, confirming the locations of the meridians mapped by the ancients. Disorders arise when a state of imbalance occurs or the flow of Qi is blocked within the cyclic system. The functionality of acupuncture is to help remove the blockage and restore the balance by stimulating specific points.

The acupuncture practitioner performs a differential diagnosis to identify the underlying cause of your pain. Then, a treatment plan is recommended to stimulate your body to heal itself naturally, without the uncomfortable and unnecessary side effects of drugs. A treatment plan often consists of a combination of TCM modalities chosen to bring your body back into balance. Unlike a Western medicine approach to pain, which is to mask the pain or symptoms, acupuncture treats the underlying cause of the pain or symptoms. Pain is often the primary symptom of our patients, but symptoms can also manifest as addictions, allergies, depression, fatigue, or stress. Our treatments are custom designed to minimize the negative impact of these symptoms in your daily life. Our goal is to relieve your pains or other symptoms so you can lead a healthier and happier lifestyle.
